Where to stay in Arusha

Moshono — leafy, quiet, well-connected

On the eastern side of town toward Usa River, Moshono is green, calm and residential, with easy access to the Moshi road for airport runs and day trips. It suits longer stays, families and anyone who wants space and quiet after a day out. This is where Arusha Living's own apartments are based.

Njiro — modern and self-contained

A fast-growing suburb south-east of the centre with shopping complexes, restaurants and gyms. Popular with young professionals and NGO staff. Good studios and one-bedroom options at fair monthly rates.

Themi — established and central-adjacent

An older, established area close to town with tree-lined streets and larger compounds. Convenient for business travellers who need to be near offices and meetings without sleeping in the centre itself.

City centre — convenient, busy

Walkable to markets, banks and the clock tower, but noisier and more hectic. Fine for a night or two; most visitors staying longer prefer the suburbs.

Sakina — budget-friendly gateway

On the north-west Nairobi-road side of town. More local in character and cheaper, with good bus connections — a practical base if you're watching the budget.
